Introduction
Dwellings for which planning applications are submitted as and from 1 January 2007, require a BER when constructed or offered for sale. N.B....Second hand properties will require a BER from 2009. NES are registered Renewable Energy Installers ( ID l1363) and certified Building Energy Rating assessors (ID 100089) with Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI). The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive was inacted into Irish Law in 2006 and NES perform the Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP) to issue Building Energy Ratings with A1 – G3 Energy Labels.
The new building regulations in 2008 will require new homes to be 40% more efficient and confirm air tightness by 50 pascal Air Blower testing.
In 2010 and 2016, 60% and Passive criteria will apply respectfully.

Our BER Service
We will examine the plans of your building and using the official DEAP software, will perform an energy assessment of the Building Fabric, Insulation, Ventilation method, Window Schedules, Water and Space Heating, these are all key elements of the BER calcuations. We will issue you with a certified energy that is valid for 10 years.
